Music is language acquisition. Musical experiences in childhood accelerate brain development in the areas of reading skills, and mathematical learning. nSchiller provides equitable access to music and all the benefits that can be gained through its learning. By promoting traditional music education, our aim is to foster an appreciation for music, build self-esteem, teach critical social skills and engender creativity and innovation. Music education in the school is well rounded including both Indian Classical and Western music. The genre of music ranges from Raags to Bhajjans and Abhangs, from Indian folk songs to English classical and fusion. By the end of a student’s school life, they can take pride in the treasure trove of music that they have learnt.
MUSIC STUDIO is meant for students with the aptitude and passion for music. Besides regular lessons, Schiller organises concerts for the students to expose them to authentic performance experiences. Schillerites delight in expressing themselves through dancing, singing, playing instruments, musical games, and even simple musical composition.
Schiller is providing opportunities to perform outside the classrooms and school for creating to broaden the students experiences as musicians. Students enjoy classical music, world music, popular music, and original children’s songs, and new material is introduced every three weeks.
At Music Studio Schillerittes Will:
- Develop skills in music analysis, basic composition, performance in a first and second instrument,contemporary music notation and sequencing software.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of the history of music .
- Cultivate a deeper understanding of and appreciation for a wide range of music.
- Gain a more global outlook, with avenues for emotional expression.
Mathematics is also engraved in the study of astronomy. STAR-WAR Astronomy clubs are very effective medium to introduce these subjects to Schillerites outside of the classroom and maintain an everlasting interest. It Increases a sense of excitement and wonder amongst the Schillerites and gives them a peer group to share their passion and learning.Study of astronomy polishes many other important skills.
